Business Litigation Pilot Project
Business Court Launched in Davidson County May 1
A new Business Court in Davidson County court has opened the door to increased efficiencies in complex business litigation in Tennessee.
Davidson County Chancellor Ellen Hobbs Lyle presides over the project, which started taking cases May 1. The court was created by a Supreme Court Order filed March 16, 2015 and supplemented by order filed November 1, 2016.
The pilot project will focus on complex business litigation with the goals of expediting cases and developing a body of rulings from which lawyers and litigants can better predict and assess outcomes in business cases. An evaluation process will be put in place to determine the effectiveness of the court.
