This seminar will address different mediation strategies which can be utilized by both mediators and attorneys representing litigants in all types of domestic litigation. The topics to be covered will include the following: The unique characteristics of domestic litigation and domestic mediation; Pre-mediation information provided to the mediator; The advisability of opening statements; Knowing your judge; Knowing the local rules of Court; Which issue to mediate first; Facilitative versus evaluative mediation techniques; The enforceability of mediated Permanent Parenting Plan Orders; What do you do when you don’t know what to do next; How best to seal the deal.
