What is Apology and Forgiveness? 
A discussion of the components of apology and forgiveness, techniques for achieving them in mediation, and ethical considerations.  Led by Pepperdine Law Professor, Dr. Peter Robinson.

1.5 Hours of General Mediation Issues

Mediation in Leadership and Change:
Continuation of earlier session, to include a discussion of conflict prevention, communication, psychological needs of parties, and risks and benefits to parties of using the techniques discussed.

Ethics Considerations:  Should Mediators Encourage Apology? 
A discussion of the ethical concerns for attorneys and mediators that may arise from encouraging clients and parties to apologize and forgive in the mediation setting.  Note:  This discussion will be interwoven throughout the entire 3-hour presentation.

1.0 Hour of Mediation Ethics

Debriefing.  Applying what we have learned. 
A discussion on using reconciliation concepts in school, church, workplace and family conflicts.

.50 Hours of General Mediation Issues

Church conflict prevention/reconciliation workshop. 
A panel discussion of religious leaders on marriage and divorce conflict prevention/resolution.

1.0 Hour of General Mediation Issues

Workplace conflict prevention/reconciliation workshop
An interactive workshop on workplace conflict resolution led by Prof. Mark Travis, J.D., LL.M, DIrector of LMU’s Institute for Collaborative Leadership

1.0 Hour of General Mediation Issues

Family Law.  
An overview of family law in Tennessee for Rule 31 Mediators, presented by Jean Munroe, J.D. and well-known mediator trainer.

3.0 Hours of Family Law

Cultural Conflict.
A breakout workshop which will discuss how the Bridge Refugee Program uses conflict resolution principles to help refugees assimilate into the U.S.

1.0 Hour of General Mediation Issues

Conflict Prevention/ Resolution in Schools
A panel discussion of prominent school leaders about programs used by schools to prevent and resolve conflicts in schools.

1.0 Hour of General Mediation Issues

Insurance Workshop. 
Breakout workshop led by prominent insurance professionals discussing the special considerations needed in resolving conflicts involving insurance.
